Target corporation is the eight largest corperation in the In the United states of America. They have a headquarters called "Target plaza" in Minneapolis. It was first established in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1962. It began expansions nationwide in the 1980s. The company found success overtime as it played off the cheap-chic industry in the cooperation business. It offers products at an affordable rate to customers with a money back guarantee.
Their parent company was renamed in 2000 as Target corporation and separated itself from its other subsidiaries. In the early 2010's, Target suffered from a security break of customers credit card data that was highly publicized; it also suffered from the failure of its subsidiary; Target Canada. The establishment of Target Canada only lasted for a short while before it had to be closed down. Target has different retail formats, some include; Target express, City Target, The discount store Target, and Hypermarket SuperTarget.
Target operated 1,844 stores throughout the United States as of 2019. The first stores were established in July 2012 at Los Angeles, Seattle, and Chicago. The first store opened up near the University of Minnesota, in Dinkytown. Target was featured as number 37 in Fortune 500's list of United State's largest corporations by total revenue. Their products are retailed in small packages aimed to satisfy customers that use public transportation. The content of each retail store varies according to the environment. Stores that are built in college communities often have dormitory furnishings.
